Stewardship 2022

Dear St. John’s Family,

We encourage you to check out the new banner in our parish hall displaying hopes and dreams shared by members of this congregation and our wider community. We have emerged from the darkest days of the pandemic thankful for God’s blessings and filled with dreams for how we may continue to grow in faith and love in the years ahead.
As we begin this year’s fall stewardship campaign, we invite you to contribute your financial support toward making these dreams come true. We welcome everyone to grow with us as we strive to enhance the lives not only of our parish family but also of our community through our many ministries.

St. John’s always gratefully receives every financial gift. During our fall campaign, we encourage you to fill out a pledge card listing what you intend to give during 2023. This helps us plan our ministries and budget for the coming year. You can pledge any amount and make payments in person, online or through the mail on whatever schedule works best for you, such as weekly, monthly or as a one-time annual payment.
Signs of new growth are everywhere at St. John’s: in new members, upcoming baptisms, and rejuvenated ministries. Just in the past year, we’ve:

Restarted our Saturday Luncheon Socials, which offer food and companionship to our neighbors.
Welcomed two Afghan refugee families into the rectory and Wilson House, fully renovated in cooperation with several other congregations in our diocese.
Grown spiritually through participation in the Got Faith! program in conjunction with St. Peter’s, Mountain Lakes, and Church of the Saviour in Denville.
Hired a new priest, the Rev. Sharon Sheridan Hausman, to help lead our congregation.
Offered animal blessings, face painting, and the opportunity to share hopes and dreams at Boonton Day.
Fed our hungry neighbors by collecting food for the local food bank and Thanksgiving baskets.
Helped mothers and their babies through donations to North Porch.
Provided Christmas gifts through the Angel Giving Tree.

Just imagine how much more we can grow if our financial resources grow as well!
Over the next few weeks, you will hear special messages from members of our church family who feel blessed to be part of St. John’s. We hope these will inspire you and remind you of the blessings and joy you receive through your relationship with God and the members of our very special little church.
Please take some time to consider prayerfully what you wish to pledge to St. John’s this year. For each pledge received, we will plant a perennial in a new “Pledge Garden.” As it grows and flourishes, this garden will be a beautiful and tangible symbol of our love for God, our church and our community as we continue to grow in faith and love.
