PictureRev. Sharon at her ordination
The Rev. Sharon Sheridan Hausman is our new Priest-in-Residence at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Boonton. St. John’s is a small church with a big heart sitting on a hill at the corner of Cornelia and Cedar streets. After a long search, interrupted by Covid-19, we are delighted to welcome Rev. Sharon. She brings with her many gifts for our church and the Boonton community.  Before her ordination as a priest in the Diocese of Newark, she worked as a reporter and editor for both church and secular publications. Besides leading services on the first and third Sundays, she will be working with our refugee program, coordinating with local churches, and assisting with re-launching the Saturday Luncheon Social, a vital outreach program where St. John’s and neighboring churches provide a great lunch and opportunity for our neighbors in need to meet and eat together. Rev. Sharon looks forward to collaborating on more exciting things to come. Come and say hello to her on Sundays or when you see her in town as she meets the community.  You can find her at Boonton Coffee, where she enjoys the community and the coffee.
Rev. Sharon earned a Master of Divinity degree from Drew Theological School in Madison, N.J., and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before ordination, she worked as a reporter and editor for both church and secular publications. She lives in Flanders with her husband, son and an elderly cat.
